I am 6。 I do not like this book because the elephant could have bought another ice cream cone for the pig, and he got so focused on Piggie that the ice cream cone melted。 I liked Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus way better。 I am 6。 I do not like this book because the elephant could have bought another ice cream cone for the pig, and he got so focused on Piggie that the ice cream cone melted。 I liked Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus way better。 。。。more

Few friendships are as pure as Gerald and Piggie's。 Though this makes me wonder if there may some co-dependency issues here。The conceit here is obvious from the start but adorable nonetheless, with writing is as charming as ever。 Few friendships are as pure as Gerald and Piggie's。 Though this makes me wonder if there may some co-dependency issues here。The conceit here is obvious from the start but adorable nonetheless, with writing is as charming as ever。 。。。more

Very Cute。 Elephants worries about whether to share his ice cream or not。 While he worries and dances around, ironically his ice cream melts! By the time he decides to share it with his good friend Piggie it’s gone! But Elephant is rewarded with his decision to share when Piggie comes by to share her ice cream with Gerald, the elephant。

I like reading almost all of the Elephant and Piggie books but this one might be my favorite! It is such a simple question that the book is on but it goes into quite a bit of detail and different situations。 I like how this book uses words that young children can not only understand but probably read when they are in first grade。 I think it is great to introduce students to this book and then if they enjoy it introduce them to the other Elephant and Piggie books。 You could also incorporate this I like reading almost all of the Elephant and Piggie books but this one might be my favorite! Never met an Elephant and Piggie I didn’t love。

Would I want to share my ice cream at all? That is a good question for kids to think about。 Would they really want to or would they just want to eat it?? This is a cute book that will make kids want to stop and at least think about the idea of sharing your favorite ice cream with someone。 This is a great book for beginner readers。 I would recommend this book to others and this is also an AR book for anyone who might want to know。

Quite a delight - my 5 year old had to pick 3 big emotions in a book, and this provided ample examples!

This book is humorous and can be really active when reading it with students。 This book also highlights interactions within friendships that are likely familiar to students。 The books involves many things chidden like: humor, ice cream, and animals。 It also teaches students how to solve problems and help friends who are feeling sad。

The issue of social safety nets is at the core of the political schism currently ripping the United States apart, and as November 2020 approaches there is one question on the minds of many; Should I Share My Ice Cream?Discuss。

This is such a sweet and touching tale。 I know it seems about sharing。 In some ways that's true。 But I think it's more about friendship than about sharing。 What I get from it is that sometimes you make mistakes, and you end up feeling really bad for hurting the people closest to you, but they know your heart is in the right place and they love you anyway。 It shows we're all human (or elephant) and how transformative kindness can be。 This is such a sweet and touching tale。 I know it seems about sharing。 In some ways that's true。 But I think it's more about friendship than about sharing。 What I get from it is that sometimes you make mistakes, and you end up feeling really bad for hurting the people closest to you, but they know your heart is in the right place and they love you anyway。 It shows we're all human (or elephant) and how transformative kindness can be。 。。。more

This is one of my favorite Mo Willems to read with my boys。 I imagine the internal debate that elephant has over whether or not to share is what goes on in my own children's minds when they have to decide whether or not to share something with a friend。 Sharing isn't necessarily easy for all children。 Some need to work at it。 This is one of my favorite Mo Willems to read with my boys。 I imagine the internal debate that elephant has over whether or not to share is what goes on in my own children's minds when they have to decide whether or not to share something with a friend。 Sharing isn't necessarily easy for all children。 Some need to work at it。 。。。more
